Electric Utilities
DeWalch secures electric utility metering against tampering and theft of service — from residential socket meters to ringless meter boxes, gang sockets, and CT cabinets. For ring-style meters, our stainless and hardened-steel locking rings clamp the meter and accept a barrel lock for tamper-evident or high-security protection. For ringless boxes, our enclosure locks secure the cover without modifying the socket.
Every device is engineered to withstand aggressive tampering: case-hardened bodies resist cutting and saws, interlocking seams block prying tools, and our hardened padlocks secure CT cabinets and substation enclosures under the same factory-controlled key program.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you lock a ringless electric meter?
Ringless meter boxes are secured with an enclosure lock rather than a locking ring. DeWalch offers top-, side-, and bottom-mount enclosure locks — including the Armadillo™, Prolock™, Liplock™, and S-Hook™ — that lock the meter box cover closed without punching or modifying the socket.
How do you secure a CT cabinet?
CT (current transformer) cabinets on large commercial and industrial services are typically secured with a hardened padlock or barrel-lock system that resists cutting, prying, and drilling. DeWalch CT cabinet locks share the same key codes as a utility's meter locks, so the cabinet is covered by the existing key program.
