Gas Utilities

DeWalch protects gas service from tampering and unauthorized shut-off or reconnection. Our barrel-lock-and-end-cap system fits wing-style gas valves, locking the valve in position with a hardened, tamper-resistant barrel lock and cap that resists prying and cutting.

Paired with our Rotor™, DT 1000™, plunger, and electronic eLoc™ barrel-lock-and-key systems, gas utilities get factory-controlled key codes, audit-trail key control, and field-proven reliability across the entire distribution network.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you lock a gas valve?

A wing-style gas valve is locked with a barrel lock and end cap. The cap fits over the valve and is held by a tamper-resistant barrel lock, preventing the valve from being turned. DeWalch end caps work with both plunger and disk-tumbler barrel locks and are available in stainless or hardened carbon steel.
