This SMS Opt-In Policy describes the employee text-message program operated by DeWalch Technologies, Inc. ("DeWalch," "we," "us," or "our") (the "Program"), and how employees opt in and out.
1. Program description
The Program sends text messages to DeWalch employees who have opted in. Messages fall into four categories:
- Onboarding — information and reminders for new employees as they start with DeWalch
- Password reset — one-time temporary passwords to sign in to or regain access to DeWalch systems
- Two-factor authentication — one-time verification codes used to confirm your identity when signing in
- Emergency alerts — notices about facility closures, severe weather, safety incidents, and other urgent workplace conditions
Messages are informational and transactional only. We never send marketing or promotional messages through the Program, and the Program does not send messages to customers or the public.
2. Who can participate
The Program is available only to current DeWalch employees. Participation is voluntary. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of employment, and employees who do not opt in can receive the same information through other means provided by DeWalch.
3. How to opt in
Employees can opt in in either of two ways:
- In DeWalch's internal software. The employee enters their own mobile phone number and checks an unchecked consent box displaying the consent language below. The checkbox is never pre-selected, and the system records the date and time of consent.
- By written consent form. The employee completes and signs a written SMS consent form containing the consent language below. After the form is signed, DeWalch management enters the employee's mobile phone number into our internal system. The signed form is kept on file.
We do not enroll anyone through this website, from purchased or shared lists, or without consent given in one of the ways above. Management does not enter an employee's number for the Program unless the employee has signed the consent form.
A copy of the written consent form is available at www.dewalch.com/sms-consent-form/.
"I agree to receive text messages from DeWalch Technologies, Inc. at the mobile number I have provided, including onboarding information, password reset codes, two-factor authentication codes, and emergency alerts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of employment. See the SMS Opt-In Policy at www.dewalch.com/sms-policy/ and the Privacy Policy at www.dewalch.com/privacy/."
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Onboarding messages are sent while you are starting with DeWalch. Password reset and two-factor authentication messages are sent only when you request them or sign in. Emergency alerts are sent only when an emergency or urgent workplace condition arises.
5. Sample messages
"DeWalch: You are enrolled to receive employee alerts and account codes by text. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
"DeWalch: Welcome aboard! Please report to 1441 Seamist Dr. at 8:00 AM on your start date. Reply STOP to opt out."
"DeWalch: Your temporary password is 7Kx4-Qm92. Do not share it with anyone. Reply STOP to opt out."
"DeWalch: Your verification code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. Do not share this code. Reply STOP to opt out."
"DeWalch ALERT: The Seamist Dr. facility is closed today due to severe weather. Watch for updates from your supervisor. Reply STOP to opt out."
6. How to opt out
You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further messages from the Program. You may also opt out by turning off text messaging in DeWalch's internal software, by notifying DeWalch management, or by emailing privacy@dewalch.com. To re-enroll, reply START, opt in again in our internal software, or sign a new consent form.
Opting out does not affect your employment. You will receive onboarding information, account codes, and emergency notices through other means provided by DeWalch.
7. Help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at privacy@dewalch.com or 713-861-8993.
8. Cost
DeWalch does not charge for Program messages. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier's plan.
9. Carriers
The Program is supported on major U.S. wireless carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to carrier coverage and network availability. Because delivery is not guaranteed, do not rely on text messages as your only source of emergency information.
10. Privacy
We handle your mobile phone number and opt-in information as described in our Privacy Policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with the service providers that deliver our text messages on our behalf, which may use it only to provide that service.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this SMS Opt-In Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Material changes to the Program will be communicated to enrolled employees.
